Juvederm® in Virginia Beach

With age, the skin can lose tissue elasticity and volume. This results in lax tissue that sags, and forms fine lines and deep wrinkles. As the fat deposits below the eyes and across the cheeks diminish, the face is left looking hollow, with sharp, tired features. Not only does the face look older, the appearance can become unhappy and unhealthy. Top Virginia Beach cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Kyle Choe, has an answer for the early signs of aging: Juvederm injectable gel.

Juvederm | Virginia Beach

The cutting-edge injectable provides immediate and dramatic results. This injection refreshes the appearance, eliminating fine lines, deep creases, and restoring facial volume in a quick, noninvasive procedure. Juvederm injections at The Choe Center Med Spa in Virginia Beach provide long lasting benefits that can immediately take years off of the face.

Juvederm at The Choe Center

Juvederm is made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance that is responsible for healthy, hydrated tissues. Over time, HA naturally decreases, resulting in depleted facial volume and a loss of tissue elasticity. Smoking, sun damage, weight fluctuations, illness, and genetics can further expedite these changes.

Juvederm was formulated specifically to treat static wrinkles, or those caused by lax tissues. This injectable fillers can significantly restore lost facial volume and correct asymmetry. Juvederm plumps tissues and blends with the body’s existing collagen stores to provide long-term results. Juvederm’s smooth gel formula will improve Nasolabial Folds, Marionette Lines, and a loss of volume in the cheeks jawline for up to a full year.

Options in the Juvederm Family of Injectables

Juvederm Injections at The Choe Center

The Juvederm procedure will take 15 to 30 minutes. Injections are applied to the predetermined location with a small needle, just above the underlying bone and muscle. While the injections are not painful, they can cause a fleeting pinching sensation. This injection contains Lidocaine, an anesthetic, keeping discomfort to a minimum. Dr. Choe can also add a topical numbing cream or local anesthetic for additional comfort.

Recovery and Results From Juvederm

No downtime is required after a Juvederm session. Patients can return to work or school the same afternoon. While mild redness and swelling are common at the injection site, these will quickly dissipate. The results from Juvederm can be seen immediately. Then, as the body’s collagen stores increase, the skin will gradually continue to improve. A repeat treatment will not be necessary for eight to ten months, possibly longer.

Side effects are generally mild, although swelling, redness and bruising are common. These will diminish over the first several days. More serious complications are rare but can include facial asymmetry, infection, or an allergic reaction to the bacterial proteins.
