Dr. Choe knew he wanted to become a surgeon early on in his life. He remembers the anatomy class during his junior year in high school and how much he enjoyed the dissection lab. Dr. Choe spent several summers during his medical school shadowing a well-known cardiothoracic surgeon in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington. He imagined being a famous heart surgeon someday. It wasn't until his senior year in medical school that he realized that facial plastic surgery had better suited his life goals. "I realized that life is more than just enjoying work, and I am glad I made the discovery." He credits his mentors and fellowship director for his love for facial plastic surgery. As the premier facial plastic & reconstructive surgery practice in the greater Hampton Roads area, Dr. Choe is committed to helping his patients achieve their goals with natural results that are individually focused.

When you start seriously considering facial plastic surgery, asking the right questions during your consultation with a facial plastic surgeon in Virginia Beach sets you on the best path for a successful outcome. You should start with the basics: What are your qualifications? How often do you perform this procedure? Ask for before-and-after photos of patients with similar facial structures so you can see the potential results. It’s important to discuss the recovery process and any potential risks that come with the procedure. Understanding all of this information helps you align your goals with realistic surgical outcomes. At the Choe Center, we take the time to focus on answering all of your questions so you have everything you need to make an empowered decision.
Deciding between Botox and more permanent surgical solutions depends on what changes you’re hoping to see from facial plastic surgeons. They do different things. If you’re looking to smooth out lines and wrinkles without too much recovery time afterward, Botox might be the better choice for you and your situation. It’s quick and effective, but you also need to keep in mind that it is temporary. Surgery, on the other hand, is the better option if you want more significant or long-lasting corrections. During your consultation at The Choe Center, we discuss your goals to help figure out which approach will align best with your goals and the results you are looking for.
Wondering if it’s the right time for a facelift? At The Choe Center, we believe the right age for a facelift is less about the numbers on your birthday cake and more about the changes you see in the mirror. Many of our patients start considering a facelift when signs of aging become prominent, typically in their 40s to 60s. The key is to evaluate your skin’s elasticity and overall health. Set up a consultation to talk about what a facelift can do for you and when might be the best time to take that step.
Your facial plastic surgery cost depends on the type and complexity of the procedure. Other factors that affect the price include anesthesia, facility fees, and your facial plastic surgeon’s experience level. During your consultation, we discuss all of the available options and their costs to find a solution that works for both your goals and budget. Make sure you don’t focus only on price when you are making your decision for facial plastic surgery in Virginia Beach.
